Tuesday, March 9th, 2021 at 12 noon, the series welcomes artist Cassia Kite .  In her presentation; “Soundstitching,” Cassia will discuss this interdisciplinary, multimedia project that transforms color from a hand-stitched image into a musical composition that can be interpreted by a musician and/or performance artist. The resulting organic combination of three forms of art is a collaborative, multisensory experience.  You won’t want to miss this discussion.

The result is an organic combination of three forms of art into one collaborative, multisensory experience.”

Cassia Kite will take you through her Soundstitching journey from the conception of the project in 2012, through collaborations with museum and educational institutions, to her present day curiosities driving her current work. The Soundstitching project is interdisciplinary between the fine art areas of visual, music and performing arts, as well as process oriented and educational in narrative. Kite believes that being an art educator is the driving force behind her explorations within the Soundstitching project.

Learning Outcomes:

Attendees with be taken through Kite’s Soundstitching journey from the conception of the project in 2012, through collaborations with museum and educational institutions, to her present day curiosities driving her current work.
